For the first time since its institution in 2005, the IBCPC FESTIVAL will take place in Continental Europe: in ITALY!

Registration for the event

Starting from October 2016

We are thrilled to welcome our sister survivors from all over the world, the Festival will be an incredible opportunity to share an amazing life experience, joyful and memorable at the same time. Our goal will be to create a festival with emphasis on participation and inclusion over competition, it will be the opportunity to develop more consciousness highlighting the value of social dissemination of a culture of prevention.
When I close my eyes I imagine the whole town flooded by a pink tide…streets, shops, buildings and our river invaded by an extraordinary pink energy. This is the reason why, with my fellow adventurers, Alessandro, Jolanda, Patrizia and Susanna, we have chosen as official name of the Florence festival organizational committee FIRENZE IN ROSA.
As first European location of the event, Florence, charming and cosmopolitan city open to the world and at the same time treasures case of the past, represents a living city that wants to testimony the strengthens and the solidarity tradition of its region welcoming thousands of BCS for a fabulous week in 2018.
Looking forward to meeting you all
Lucia De Ranieri – President of 2018 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival

What is IBCPC?

The International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission (IBCPC) has 166 breast cancer survivor (BCS) dragon boat teams on five continents. Its mandate is to encourage the establishment of breast cancer dragon boat teams, within the framework of participation and inclusiveness. It supports the development of recreational dragon boat paddling as a contribution to a healthy life style for those diagnosed with breast cancer. If you are a new or existing breast cancer dragon boat team, you may be interested in the IBCPC. This is the premier organization for BCS dragon boat teams and in order to participate in the 2018 IBCPC Florence Participatory Festival you will need to be an IBCPC member.  Click below to visit the IBCPC website to learn about the organization, find the membership application and sign up for their informative newsletters.
